Summers are so busy with family and art activities. RRWS, AOTL, and MOP. My geranium painting is hanging in the Plains Art Museum for the 29th RRWS Juried Watermedia Show. Juror Michael Holter.
I am painting in three pleinair events this summer. So I will be busy painting outdoors.
EnJoy your summer!

2019/2020 Winter in AZ
Plein air painting has been so much fun this year. Wish we could go more often.
Today we hiked a few miles at First Water, Hackberry Springs. We looked for water, but did not find the spot we were told about. It was a fun day with friends Sharyn and Linda. Photo later!
Teaching watercolor classes each week has been fun, and takes a lot of time to prep the class.
Working on paintings to submit to RRWS and AWA shows.

Maybe blogging is not my bag?? I see once a year is about my speed.
Teaching watercolor in AZ was fun yet a big challenge ! I had an average of ten to twelve great watercolorists each Monday. The theme was to discover the design elements and next season will be design principles.
Plein Air painting was a BLaSt!! We painted nearly every Wednesday and some Saturdays. My friends are fantastic artists!
I took a few classes myself. Meeting Alvaro Castagnet, was a long time dream. I also met Joyce Hicks and Antonio Masi, the president of AWS.
Looking forward to a wonderful summer. EnJoy!

With two ongoing goals of painting more plein air and painting everyday, it seems I struggle with knowing how to get it all done. I have an overwhelming desire to paint and I am seeing everything as a painting. When I look at the sky I am reviewing the paint colors I would use to paint the view. When looking at trees I am seeing the size and shape of the shadow and silently making decisions on what colors I would mix to get that shadow. I love the challenge!

I am getting back in the saddle again! No, I am not riding horse, rather getting back to serious painting after taking a break from painting and marketing, while I returned to college to earn my Master's of Science in Nursing. I taught for nine years, and did not spend enough time with my art during that time. I am all excited and am painting daily in order to get that loose wonderful feeling back into my work.
